Our Story

Welcome to a hidden gem located right in the center of Boulder! Backyard Roots is a small, backyard urban farm nestled in the heart of this beautiful mountain town. Our farm is a labor of love dedicated to cultivating fresh, organic produce right in our own backyard. Committed to sustainability, we embrace organic and regenerative practices to bring you the highest quality vegetables, herbs and honey. From seed to harvest, our meticulous and thoughtful approach ensures each plant (and buzzing bee!) receives the care it deserves, resulting in the beauty of delicious, locally grown goodness.

  • The Spring Vegetable Garden setup includes a 1 hour site visit, followed by the receipt of the following:

    1) A custom garden guide, with diagram, for your growing space.

    2) A plant and seed list complete with best practices for maintaining the plants through the season, fighting pests and common diseases, and methods of harvesting.

  • We take pride in enhancing the health and beauty of your backyard garden, fostering a sustainable and vibrant ecosystem. Whether you have a small backyard garden or a sprawling landscape, our garden care service is committed to bringing out the best in your outdoor space. This is a great service if you’re traveling or if you find yourself overwhelmed at the height of the growing season. We serve the city of Boulder and surrounding areas. Garden care is priced at $75/hour.
